Miguel Vargas
Hitting scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Vargas projects as a hit-over-power infielder whose offensive profile will live and die by his ability to make consistent contact and get on base. His elite hitting skills and plate discipline provide a legitimate floor as a useful major league player. However, below-average power production and defensive limitations cap his ceiling. For him to remain an everyday player long-term, he must continue to improve power output through improved pull-side development and mechanical refinement. His best-case scenario is a solid second-division everyday third baseman who accumulates value through getting on base and turning contact into doubles rather than home runs.
