Christian Zazueta
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
The fastball and changeup give Zazueta a legitimate foundation for a major-league rotation role, particularly if the fastball’s carry and extension continue to make its average velocity play above the radar-gun reading. His recent strikeout and walk performance is encouraging, but the overall professional sample remains modest and the lean body creates a durability question. The developmental path is to add strength without compromising the simple delivery, make the slider more consistently distinct and usable, and demonstrate that he can hold command and velocity over larger workloads. The conservative outcome is a No. 4 starter, with a bullpen fallback if the third pitch or durability does not progress.
