Fernando Perez
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Fernando Perez projects as a back-end depth starter or long reliever in his peak seasons at the major league level. His value will be determined largely by whether his command and pitchability can partially compensate for limited stuff as competition intensifies. The realistic ceiling appears to be a No. 5 starter or swingman role, with a floor of being organizational depth. His durability and ability to build innings make him a valuable organizational asset even if he does not reach elite status. If he can add velocity and further refine his secondary offerings during continued maturation, he could push toward No. 4 starter consideration, but this appears unlikely based on current trajectory. More probable outcome is that he becomes reliable back-end rotation piece or depth arm available for injury replacement at major league level.
