Vasquez has the ingredients of a low-end starter if the fastball quality and secondary stuff continue to play, but the recent command regression makes the bullpen path more realistic at present. The fastball has enough life and velocity to miss bats, and the breaking ball/changeup mix gives him more than one way to get outs, yet he still needs a much better strike-throwing baseline to work through lineups. If the control backs up only to average, he can fit as a rotation candidate; if it remains below-average, he profiles better as a power relief arm with some up-down volatility. The floor is determined by the walks and the homer susceptibility, not by a lack of raw stuff.
