Michael Mesa
Hitting scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Given his age and current physicality, Mesa projects as a power-leaning corner outfielder with a realistic ceiling of an average regular if the bat fully comes together, but more likely a corner depth piece. The most optimistic path has his hit tool stabilizing around average with above-average game power, yielding everyday potential in left field. A more conservative outcome is an organizational player or bench bat who can supply left-handed power in spurts but does not defend well enough for a stable role. Development of plate discipline, conditioning to preserve mobility, and defensive improvement in a corner will determine whether he moves beyond a typical low-minors power prospect.
