Santiago Solarte
Hitting scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Solarte has the ingredients of a high-variance power bat with enough athleticism to avoid an immediate corner-only label, but the defensive path likely pushes him down the spectrum over time. The offensive ceiling is driven by rare raw power for a player his age, and the DSL production supports that this is not just bat speed in workouts. The floor is lower because the swing length, strikeout risk, and eventual defensive home all create pressure on the bat to carry. If the hit tool settles into average and the body remains coordinated, he can become a useful everyday third baseman; if the contact quality backs up, he profiles more as a second-division regular.
