Diego Frontado
Hitting scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
Given his age, international bonus, and early DSL performance, he profiles as a developmental middle-infield prospect with a realistic ceiling of an average regular and a more conservative forecast of a utility or up-down shortstop. The path to that role runs through continued refinement of the hit tool, adding strength to unlock more game power while preserving his athleticism. Defensively, he has a chance to remain at shortstop, but even a slide to second or third would keep him in a valuable infield role if the bat holds. Risk is substantial due to age and modest present power, so the median outcome is a role player who contributes situationally rather than an everyday cornerstone.
