Jaron DeBerry
Pitching scouting report · 80Grade
Scouting summary
DeBerry has a realistic path to a back-end rotation role because he owns a deep, high-spin mix, starter durability and enough command to compete when his sequencing is precise. The ceiling is limited by below-average fastball velocity, modest margin for error and a 2026 season in which home-run damage and traffic on the bases remained substantial. Added strength could move the fastball into the low-to-mid-90s and improve the overall profile, but that development should be treated as possible rather than expected. If the power does not arrive, improved cutter and breaking-ball command could still produce a No. 5 starter; otherwise, the depth of his arsenal gives him a credible multi-inning or middle-relief fallback.
