Wei-En Lin

Pitching scouting report · 80Grade

Scouting summary

Given his age-relative performance, strike-throwing ability, and a potential plus changeup, the most realistic outcome is a solid mid-rotation left-handed starter if the breaking ball and command continue to sharpen. Fastball quality and breaking ball consistency will determine whether he tops out closer to a back-end option or can settle into a true number three role. Even if the breaker never becomes more than average, the fastball/changeup combo and control should give him a good chance to contribute meaningful innings in a big-league rotation. A relief fallback as a multi-inning lefty exists if his stuff backs up under heavier workloads, but current trajectory points to a starting role with moderate upside.

Projected MLB role: #3 starter
